NY Knicks guard Nate Robinson was fined $25,000

Tuesday, December 29, 2009, By Joel Montgomery

NY Knicks guard Nate Robinson was fined $25,000 for comments his agent made during a trade request which were deemed detrimental to the NBA.

The NBA league levied the fine against Robinson in the wake of statements made by his agent, Aaron Goodwin, on December 19.

Nate Robinson, who has been benched by New York Knicks head coach Mike D'Antoni for the last 12 games, is the second such player to be fined for publicly requesting a trade.

Stephen Jackson of the Golden State Warriors was hit with a $25,000 fine earlier in the season, prior to being dealt to Charlotte.
